'Nanus Variegatus' is a clump-forming, deciduous, perennial grass bearing upright to arching, flat, linear, cream-striped, mid-green leaves turning yellow in autumn and fading to pale brown by winter. In late summer and early autumn, erect stems bearing feathery panicles of cream flower spikelets turning silvery-grey by winter.
