Broad-leaved Sedge is one of the most useful edging plants for shady gardens. It forms a low mound of wide, grassy-looking green leaves. Versatile in the garden, also excellent in mixed containers. Plants prefer a soil that remains evenly moist but are amazingly tolerant of dry shade. Clumps may be divided in early spring just as the growth shoots begin to appear. Foliage dies back over the winter.
