This is a striking Allium with tall slim stems bearing dense green drumstick-style flower heads which mature to maroon-red. It’s a great choice for growing in a mixed herbaceous border among ornamental grasses, or gravel gardens. It also works well in a pot. Best to use in large groups (min 20-25 bulbs).
It remains ornamental in the garden well into summer.
Good cut flower in fresh and dried arrangements. Favorite of bees, butterflies and other pollinators.
