Round-headed leek (Allium sphaerocephalon)

This is a striking allium with tall slim stems bearing dense green drumstick-style flower heads which mature to maroon-red. It’s a great choice for growing in a mixed herbaceous border among ornamental grasses, or gravel gardens. It also works well in a pot. Best ti use in large groups (min 20-25 bulbs). It remains ornamental in the garden well into summer. Good cut flower in fresh and dried arrangements.
