Garlic Chives                      (Allium tuberosum)

This clump-forming onion has chive-like, gray-green leaves up to 30 cm long and tiny, violet scented, star-shaped, white flowers with brown striped tepals will appear in loose clusters (umbels to 5 cm wide) atop leafless strong stems. All parts of the plant are edible and have an oniony smell when cut or crushed. It remains ornamental in the garden well into summer. Good cut flower in fresh and dried arrangements.
Favorite of bees, butterflies and other pollinators.
