Sand lovegrass              (Eragrostis trichodes) 'Bend'

E. trichodes is a densely tufted, herbaceous, perennial grass with flat, arching, linear, dark green leaves turning bronze in autumn, and open, airy panicles of light purple flower spikelets in summer. Variety  'Bend' features narrow, dark green leaves which rise in tufts and bend sharply at the top. The panicles are heavy and may collapse the plant from their weight unless the plant is supported with stakes or a circular fence. Good fresh cut or dried flower.

Site warm, sunny, light, moderately fertile, well-drained soil. Prefers sandy soil. May need winter protection in colder areas. Drought tolerant once established.
