Ornamental onion (Allium atropurpureum)

Striking ornamental onion with strap-shaped green leaves and deep purple-red flowers, packed into a half-sphere shape up to 5 cm across, are borne on upright stems. It remains ornamental in the garden well into summer. Good cut flower in fresh and dried arrangements.
Favorite of bees, butterflies and other pollinators.
